FAQs
Do I need my own equipment?

No, the club has a variety of equipment available to club members including bows, arrows, tabs, arm guards etc. Although most people do prefer to purchase their own equipment once they get into their archery.

Members are welcome to rent club equipment for £4.00 per session. This is in addition to your weekly subs.
All equipment needs to be booked in and out with the club Armourer or deputy at each session.

Do I have to pay the £50 membership straight away?

No of course not. You can come down on a Tuesday evening and try it out for a while before committing yourself to full GNAS membership.

After one free session you will need to do a GNAS accredited beginners course. Soar Valley Archers provide this tuition under the guidance of our own qualified level 1 Coach. The Course lasts for six weeks; you must be able to commit to the six week course as we charge £60.00 per person per course before the course begins which is non – refundable.

On successful completion of the course, you will be asked if you wish to become a full member, at that point we will need your GNAS payment of £50.00 (Seniors) and £35.00 (Juniors, up to age of 18)

Do you shoot indoors or outdoors?

We shoot indoors during the winter months Sept-April/May. We move onto an adjacent training field during the summer months when the light and the temperature are more pleasant.

This allows us to shoot standard outdoor competition distances. We also put on a Sunday shoot once a month at a charge of £6.00 per person.
